PLEASE READ: There are new rules in place that allow us to be open during COVID-19. Please follow the rules so we can stay open.
You MUST wear a mask/face covering while checking in on shore, until you are launched. Please keep your mask on until you are in your boat & clear of our docks, away from our staff and other customers. Please keep your mask handy for when you return.
You MUST wear a life jacket/coast guard approved PFD (personal floatation device) while on the water. We are NOT renting PFDs this season–you must either bring your own or purchase one from us. We have plenty of PFDs for sale on site. You are also welcome to bring your own. PFDs will be available for 30-50lbs, 50-90lbs, and 90+lbs. All orange type 2 PFDs in these sizes will be $10 plus tax. All blue Type 3 PFDs will be $20 plus tax. We cannot guarantee we will have both styles, though we are doing everything we can to keep them in stock. (For questions about which PFDs we have in stock, please send us an email and we will give you the most current information.) If you bring your own, it must be coast guard approved. Noone will be allowed on the water who is not wearing a PFD: No exceptions. 🙂
Bookings can only be made online this year. Waivers must also be completed online, through the link in your confirmation email. Please fill this out as soon as possible. Please forward the email or link to the other members of your party so they can complete it as well.
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled rental. We are in a state park and share the parking lot with other park goers, so sometimes the lot fills up. Give yourself plenty of time to find a legitimate parking spot. If the park police set out the “lot full” sign at the entrance, you should drive around the sign to park in our small private lot–you will need to be able to show proof of a reservation to gain entry. If you park illegally anywhere in the park, you may be ticketed or towed, so please read all parking signs. The park closes at 8pm, and our parking lot is locked at 7:30pm sharp. Please read our cancellation policy regarding late arrivals and last minute cancellations.
Please use a restroom before you arrive at the park, and keep this in mind when you are deciding how long you want to be on the water. We have one porta potty on site.
Typically we are very hands-on in helping our customers launch their kayaks and paddleboards. Due to COVID-19 and the requirement to stay 6 feet apart, customers will be required to launch their own kayak or paddleboard. All equipment will be sanitized between each use. We are now using docks to make it easier to get in and out of the water.
And finally, please plan to bring your shoes & belongings with you in your kayak or on your paddleboard. We will not be offering a key bin like we usually do–have a plan in place as to where you can keep you keys safe and dry. We have dry bags and dry boxes for sale on site.
Please comply with all the rules listed here so we can all have a good time! Let us know what questions you have–we are here to help, and we care about keeping you safe. See you soon!
