Spruce Run Recreation Area was built in 1973, and offers many amenities. The park includes the boathouse, campsites, hiking trails, a public boat launch, numerous picnic areas, fishing, hunting, and a beautiful beach area (unfortunately closed for swimming summer 2024).

We are open 7 days a week from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and offer kayaks, paddle boards and small electric motorized boats at this location. Come spend the day in this beautiful park!

Park fees are charged at the gate upon arrival; fees are cash only so please be prepared. On weekdays, the charge is $5 for in-state vehicles, and $10 for out of state vehicles. On weekends and holidays, the fee is $10 for in-state vehicles, and $20 for out of state vehicles. Ask the park office for a season pass for $50 (gets you into all NJ state parks!) or a free senior pass if you are 62 or older!

We offer small rowboats, a large solar powered rowboat, and mini pontoon boats.

All boats are powered by a 3hp electric travel motor. These slow moving boats will float you around the reservoir!
